Description
What do chips, Scottish eggs, pickled onions, gherkins and the new album of the Sleaford Mods have in common? All are served as “English Tapas”. Inspired by this culinary deception, the name of the ninth studio work of the duo from Nottingham, the successor to “Key Markets”, was created. Last year, singer and rapper Jason Williamson and multi-instrumentalist Andrew Robert Lindsay Fearn recorded a total of twelve new songs for “English Tapas”, with which, paradoxical as it may sound, she will take her minimalism to a new level in 2017. Because no other band manages so well to combine post-punk and rap, hard beats and angry lyrics with socio-political commitment under such a “simple” hat. Less is more. Sleaford Mods present their new album “English Tapas” – minimalism in perfection.
