“Filth Pig” is the sixth studio album by industrial metal band MINISTRY. Originally released in 1996, the title is said to derive from a statement made at the time in the British House of Parliament: Band leader Al Jourgensen was described as a “filthy pig” by Minister President Teddy Taylor. For “Filth Pig” MINISTRY reduced all the synthesizers and samples from their sound and the music was dominated by ultra-noisy guitars, heavy bass and real drums. The songs were, for the most part, much slower than those on their previous three LPs, conveying almost a doom metal feel.
