“Fading” follows the remastered reissue of Berlin-based artist and electronic sound tinkerer Stefan Betke aka Pole’s seminal trilogy “1 2 3”, released in early 2020. He adopts the basic elements, language and vocabulary of the trilogy for “Fading” – for example, the defining pops and glitches buzzing in the background – and adds modern details. As a result, “Fading” is a multi-faceted album that lends itself just as well to immersive listening through headphones as it does to being pumped out loud through a speaker system to feel the bass rattling your ribcage.
