Besides her debut “Horses”, Patti Smith’s “Easter” (1978) is probably her best-known album. Produced by Jimmy Iovine, the disc contains a round dozen excellent interpretations of almost hypnotic charisma. Especially worth mentioning are the songs “Privilege (Set Me Free)” and “Rock N Roll Nigger” – not to forget the immortal Bruce Springsteen hymn “Because The Night”, which Patti Smith performs in a revised version of the lyrics.
